Premium Advantage
Deceptive

Business & Finance

I recieved a call from a gentleman offering a credit card. He said his name was Tim Roy. He offered a card with a $4000.00 credit limit. He stated that there was a $299.00 fee and I could use the card to get a cash advance and deposit it into my checking account to cover it a week before it's debited.

He said I would recieve the card in approx 3-4 days. He then transferred my to a "verifier" and when she couldn't answer my questions she said I needed to ask the representative I spoke with.

She transferred me back to him and he assured me that everything he told me was correct and that taking the money from the card is not something they are supposed to tell customers but he does so that customers know their personal checking account wont be interrupted.

So going against my natural instincts I thought okay maybe I am just being overcautious. I waited 6 days and still recieved no card or information.

I decided to call the number they gave me which was 888-863-9662. A man answered the phone and stated that he had recieved a # of calls about Premium Advantage and how customers had their money taken.

He has reported them as well and keeps the # to help others who have been scammed. He gave me the correct # and I called. A lady answered and I told her I wanted to cancel before it came out. She told me they tried to debit the account but funds were not available.

I asked her to please cancel the card. She instantly said okay it's cancelled. I waited and called back 10 minutes later. A gentleman answered and pulled up my info using my Phone #. I said "isn't this cancelled" he then said "it takes a while to go through the system."

The gentleman then told me he could'nt fax me a form stating they would not debit the account, nor could he give a # to the actual company, nor could I get an address. He said why would the owner waist his time if the account was cancelled, as if he had nothing better to do. I then said thank you and good-bye.

I waited and called back 15 minutes later and spoke to the first person again. She couldn't remember talking to me and said I talk to a lot of people so I don't remember you. She pulled up the info and said how can I help you. I told her I wanted to ensure the $ would not be debited.

They also told me that I wouldn't get a card anyway. I have to pay the 299 then recieve a packet 14 days later then fill out the paperwork for the bank then they can process my information.
This was far from the information I intially recieved.

She then stated "oh yeah it's cancelled". I said to her that the gentleman just told me it takes a while and I don't understand why I am getting incorrect information. She said (in a very nasty voice) I don't understand why you called again, she said it's cancelled and hung up on me.

I then filed a complaint with the FTC.
