Scammed $200 from our bank account by using misleading words and are making it hard to recieve refund/cancellation of "account"

After looking for a way to establish credit, Platinum Advantage answered the call. Their persuasive words and "too good to be true" offers turned out to be a very stressful encounter.

The offer was to recieve a credit card with a limit of $2,500 and even a $1,000 cash advance that would post before the $200 deposit was taken out of the checking account. My husband gave them the information they asked for and hung up the phone. Shortly after realizing that he no longer wanted to complete the transaction he called the 877 number back to cancel and the man that answered the phone acted "unclear" about what my husband was trying to accomplish. After being hung up on several times we knew something was wrong.

The next day we went to the bank to open a new account and close that one, but since we have a direct deposit linked to that account we left the account open with only 10.00 in it to avoid complications with whom we recieve the deposit from.

The day the money was to be taken out came and went and we thought we were in the clear. Then, while checking the account online I noticed they withdrew the old account which overdrew the balance. After filing some paperwork with the bank the claim was denied and said we had to go straight to the "company".

I called the customer service number and recieved a David Sim who said it was impossible to cancel the transaction and debit the $200 back to the account and that I would have to send a letter to the customer refund department but since we "knew exactally what we were getting into" it could be denied. He claims that he deactivated the account and we are in the process of writing our letter stating our complaint.

After further research we found that they recieved an "unsatisfactory" rating from the Better Business Bureau.

If our request for a refund is denied we WILL look into taking further action against this so called company.
