Ripoff Turns away credit worthy customers

In 1994, I had a Chapter 7 bankruptcy.in 2002 and I applied for credit at Penney's through Monogram to make a furniture purchase. I had reestablished credit, all of the accounts listed in my bankruptcy had fallen off of my credit report, and the only remaining bad item on my credit report was the actual record of the bankruptcy. I was declined both times.

After the second time, I went into Gardiner's furniture in Maryland, applied for credit to by $3K worth of furniture through Wells Fargo, and was approved. Why did Monogram decline me? I mean, it's not like they didn't have anything they could take back if I were not to pay my bill.

Today, my bankruptcy is off my record, I have applied for credit cards with better terms and have gotten them. I have good credit and an average amount of credit card debt. I applied for instant store credit at Macy's yesterday and got it.

Today, I applied for instant credit at Brooks Brothers through Monogram, and they once again embarrased me by declining me. Department store credit is one of the easiest things to get due to the high interest rate. How could I get credit at once place with no problem and them turn around and get declined at another?
