Promotional Discount Offers
Needs to be shut down! One of the biggest scams ever! Rip-off!

I received a call from Promotional Discount Offers in April explaining that I am GUARANTEED to receive an UNSECURED Visa or Mastercard for at least $2500.00; and if I kept my card in good standing I can receive a credit limit increase for $5000.00. GUARANTEED!

They explained that there would be a one time processing fee of $299.00 and as soon as the money cleared my bank account I would receive my credit card within 10-15 business days. They also said that along with my credit card their would be other offers from business'. I just figured it was an added bonus to receiving my credit card. I remember asking the agent if they were the company issuing the credit card and he said "No, they simply work as a liason between banks and customers to establish / re-establish good credit. So I agreed to pay the one time fee and went through their recording process.

My debit date was scheduled for 4/15/03 and $299.00 the transaction cleared my account 4/21/04. On Saturday May 15th, I received a package from Promotional discounts and immediately became suspicious... Why such a big package for a credit card. I opened it and discovered 3 applicaion offers from First National Bank, Cross Country Bank (which happened to be a SECURED credit card offer) and Bank One. There was a store catalog and several other brochures; basically junk mail. And on the top of all this was a letter from Promotional Discount Offers.in this letter, they state "If this package is not exactly what was explained to you, you can return the package within 10 business days and you'll receive a FULL refund minus the shipping and handling fee of $49.99.

I did exactly what the letter explained; sent the package back on 5/25/04 ($21.05 Express Mail), and phoned them on 6/4/04 to verify they received my letter and package. I spoke to Alex and he told me that no one notified the company to cancel my account but he would send the notification to cancel my account right away. I was puzzled. I said "Well I thought returning my package would automatically start the refund process. He said "No, but it is now cancelled and you can call back in a week to check the status of your refund. I was pissed at this point "Check the status! Why would I have to check the status of a refund I'm suppose to get!" He said "We'll they'll have to review your file to see if you qualify for a refund".

I called again on 6/10/04 and I spoke to Bobby, and asked him when can I receive my refund. He tolds me I was DENIED a refund because they listened to my recording twice and the agent explained to me exactly what I was receiving.

The only thing that is verified in the recording is your name, address, bank informaiton, debit date, and if I agree and unerstand what was explained to me by the agent. So if an agent tells you some bullsh*t, it's not mentioned in the recording. It's A BIG FAT RIPOFF and I want this company shut down!
