Payroll check on hold

Gentlemen, here's the problem.,
the scenario is that I was notified thru E mail of insufficient fund @ 9:44 am on April 29th Friday 2011 I went in and deposit my payroll check @10:28 the same day, check that is Bank of america the manager put a hold on it result I was still charges with insufficient funds..
My problem is that right or just the Personel on that branch which is charter way in Stockton California, 95206

As a customer since 1987 I'm sure I am in title to an explanation..
