Has unlawful tatics to harrass money out of you. Rip-off!

Van Ru Credit contacted me last month on a debt that was paid over a year ago. At the first contact they degraded me and harrassed me telling me I was lying. I told them I would get the information they requested. I also explained it would take me a couple days to get it and find it since it is a year old.

I got another call that day, and five more calls that week. Each phone call is harrassing and they speak to me in contempt. They also threatened to contact my employer stating they would just take the money from me. During one phone call the representative actually told me that i make enough money i should just pay them anyway. They also continually harrass my parents.

After researching the credit debt and collections i found that after contacting me, Van Ru should have sent me a letter announcing my debt within 5 days. It is now 3 weeks and i have recieved no such letter. I also found out that if they contact my employer they can only find out where i live (its not like im hiding, lived at the same house for 20 years), and if i work there or not. They can not simply garnish my wages, because i disput the debt. Also they cannot falsly identify themselves in an attempt to contact me. And they can not harrass, nor can they contact a third party more than once (my parents).

I intend to pursue this is court.By posting this i hope to encourage more people to post their complaints and bring this company to justice
