Credit Protector Benefits Denied After Job Loss

A year ago I signed up for the Citi credit protector program and kept up my regular payments the whole time, believing the coverage had me safe. Then, a month ago, my job ended and I tried to claim the benefit on my card through that program. Customer service told me I did not qualify. I asked the representative repeatedly to look again, but she said there was nothing she could do.

I had paid for credit protector for a full 12 months. This program from Citi cards looks like a way of taking money from customers, and it does not deliver what it promises. I hope a growing number of cardholders walk away from the company over it. I have decided to clear every outstanding balance across my cards, and I will warn my friends of this credit protector scam so they can keep their money and stay away from it.

The customer service was very poor, and the company is among the cheapest I have dealt with in my whole life. Friends, please be careful with this credit protector program...
