Internet company with no physical presence in canada

I borrowed $250 from Dollars Direct and repaid them on Dec 7 by buying a money order from my CIBC branch and then paying UPS to deliver the letter to their 1 Yonge Street Address. Also that same day I e-mailed them the information.

Now on Dec 29 I find out that they have not received the money order and are threatening to send me to collections. Actually they will not look for the money order that was sent to there office. Apparently it is of no interest.

It gets more interesting. I am trying to find the tracking number for the letter for UPS (it's been a while and I am having major renovations on my house), and I contacted the CIBC branch and they are willing to look through the entire day's work (which has been sent to the warehouse in the meantime).

When I told them in collections that I sent the money order to their 1 Yonge Street address they said it is an office address, but not for receiving mail. Also, I was told that they are an American company and based there (somewhere since the collections rep won't give me an office address) and there seems to be an address in Australia for them.

They appear to be solely an internet company
