Credit collection services I payed off bill though them and the campany didn't recieive the money

I pay a cable bill off with this company anda couple of years later i went back to that cable company and they told me I still had a outstanding bill with them. The money I gave to this company never gave it to the cable company. So I had to pay twice for the bill owed.
