Penalty for paying online one day before the due date

If your bill is due on the 4th and you decide to pay it on the 3rd, are you paying your bill late? Well, that's what Brylane Home and WFNNB says. That's right, paying your bill one (1) day before the due date online is considered a late payment! I went to their website (https://onlineaccess.mycreditcard.cc/brylanehome) to pay my bill on Nov 3rd and immediately saw where I would be charged $10.00 to make a same day payment even though the payment was due on the 4th.
After calling customer service, I was told in order for the payment to be considered on time I had to accept the charge. And if I just made a regular payment, it would not post to my account til the 5th, which would officially make it late and a $25.00 late charge or higher would be assessed.
I asked the rep would he consider giving me a courtesy for the charge, he refused. I then told him the account had been inactive since I paid the balance in full back in March and I was not aware of this new change. He said that the change was effective for a year. I told him that was not the case and that I was not notified of the change. I further told him I had proof that the charge only applied when paying on the due date and not the day before the due date in the past.
Be careful when dealing with this company and any banking institution in this economy. Since the Obama administration placed limits on what banks can charge consumers, the banking geniuses have come up with new strategies to rob the consumer through fees and charges that we have never heard of in the past.
Once I have paid this account off, I will promptly close it and never do business with them again.
