Did a settlement w / me & then turned me over to a collection agency a month late

I paid this so called company in 2, half of my balance owed & then they turned me over to a collection agency a month later & i was contacted today 5/12/10. They rep was very polite, but what was amazing was that she said that she didnt have any contact info for this company north star. So do they really exist, who did i pay my money to b/c she said that i owe 600.00 & i now i paid a settlement of 300.00. I agree w / alot of other people on here this company is a rip off, & if i had a number to call them or even an address i would give them a piece if my mind. And possibly more!!!
