Privacy Matters 123
Sneaky Identity Thieves that maxed my card with fraudulent charges! Internet

Business & Finance

Beware of charges on your credit card from "mvq*privacym"!!!

I have been in debt for years due to a hospitalization that wiped my funds out. I have been struggling to defeat my debt and finally I managed to bring it all down to 0. However, shortly after bringing down my cards, I suddenly get a $71.85 charge on my card from this fraudulent company known as Privacy Matters 1-2-3.

I noticed this charge the day after paying off my debt. It immediately struck me as familiar since I have had issues with this credit card before. After calling Chase, my provider, I explained that I did not authorize the charge and that I had no idea what it was. Sure enough, the woman on the other end of the phone said it was "Privacy Matters 123". Chase could not immediately refund the money but they are disputing the charge. They provided me with a phone number which I immediately called, enraged and with no patience whatsoever.

The reason for my volatile reaction is because I have cancelled Privacy Matters THREE TIMES in 2 YEARS. These identity thieves have gotten hold of my information on 3 seperate occasions. An automated message claimed that I made an online purchase to have this "credit protection" service on December 23rd. Because I knew that couldn't possibly be true, I checked my records. Sure enough, a single charge had mysteriously appeared on my card at about 1030am that day, when I would have been at work, not online shopping. From the very start of my issues with these thieving bastards, I have always been careful of such fraudulent charges. Since that date, I have cancelled these "services" on 3 seperate occasions, each time being promised that my "account" is "cancelled" and that I would "never be charged again".

When I spoke with a woman who gave me my personal information (which was quite disturbing that they knew it) I demanded to be refunded. She transferred me to a "manager" who sounded like a backwater "big oil" Texas hillbilly (no offense to Texas, my soon to be new home of course) who promised me I would receive a refund in 2-4 days. It has now been 3 days with no refund.

How these bastards keep managing to steal my identity, I do not know. Credit Protection schemes are alarming, and it seems that any type of purchase you make could very well lead to these blood-sucking thieves getting your personal information. Action needs to be taken against this fraudulent organization immediately.
