Hi everyone. This is my first time ever doing this, and I just want to let the good people at usacomplaints.com know that if it wasn't for this incredible website I would probably not have the information that I was looking for.

About two weeks ago, someone named Carrie Blaine (I doubt that's her real name) left messages for me. This Ms. Blaine proceeded to leave messages every day for two weeks (10 messages left in all).in a few of them, she identified herself being with CAMCO and/or Capital Acquisiton Management, and in one, she even went so far as to claim that they are not a collection agency—that they are a settlement company! Isn't that a riot?! She also claimed that she'd sent me a couple of letters and that she knows I received one of them! If that isn't a lie, I don't know what is! She sounded very persistent and a little threatening, and I'm sure that's a fairly common trait shared by all collectors.

The good thing is that on my Caller ID, it showed a number with an "815" area code and underneath it read "CAMCO". So, I decided to use Yahoo! To search and guess what I came up with—this terrific website! I was shocked to discover some of the tactics this pathetic excuse of a company uses, and decided right then and there to not return this lady's calls. I do not deal with people who use lies and deception for their job skills.

Today I'm mailing this lady a Cease & Desist letter via certified mail, and I put a "fake" signature on the bottom so they can't try to use it fradulently. I also noted in the letter that I've notified an attorney (thanks to my job) and have saved her messages as proof that she was williing to use fabrications and deception in her effort to collect. I've also pulled my credit reports, and I wonder if any of the three agencies are aware of this company and what they do? It would be interesting. I belong to a plan that Equifax has that notifies me via e-mail if there are any changes in my credit report (the 9.95 per month fee is a small price to pay for peace of mind) and I plan to do the same with TransUnion and Experian.

Don't know what the outcome will be, but if anyone's interested, I'll definitely post an update as soon as I get it! Thank you, consumer complaints!!
