Garnishment without prior notification

I received paperwork from my firm's garnishment department informing me of the pending garnishment out of this company. The paperwork was in my own mail at the office on Friday and cash was removed from my check the next Friday. Significantly less than 10 days notice. I've named the corporation and remaining communications just about every day requesting evidence of debt. I get used in a voicemail actually single-time with no one calls me back. The paperwork they delivered using the notice of garnishment from my company mentioned it had been another noitce of garnishment, I never received an initial notice. I've never received any telephone calls, or characters out of this organization or even the initial lender and so I have no idea if it's a legitimate debt. The "courtroom" paperwork was all placed and dated from Sept of 09 however the first I heard about it was Feb after I got the paperwork in my own mail.
