Ripoff "obvious claim"

Me and my wife have had renters insurance through american family for quite sometime now and just last month we had airduct cleaners notice black mold all inside our furnace and blower and coils.

The air duct company told us we need to call the owner asap and call our insurance company.

The owner had air tests and mold samples done on each of the three floors of the townhouse which came back positive for mold and also it was airborne.

I called american family insurance on july 22 which was when we were told to get out due to it was airborne and my wife has asthma which was making it worse and not to take hardly anything but few clothes out.

We had no place to go and incurred living expenses and such.

I called my agent and then was referred to the claims center where I received my claim number and the adjuster came out to look at the furnace and took pictures of it and our contents.

We had our declaration of our policy which clearly states that they will cover environmental or personal pollution damage and expenses incurred.

Our adjuster Jim Schneider threw every excuse under the sun not to cover anything and said we won't cover mold, but isn't mold a pollutant.

We had been out of our townhome since july 22 and still not back in there.

I contacted his so called boss Craig Reige with american family insurance just to get the same old story of loopholes that they try to find and cover up the declaration which clearly states we have insurance coverage on pollutants and even one section states that if civil authority prohibits use of premises that they will cover it.

Bio-3 of cincinnati ohio is cleaning up the mess but we are left with numerous out of pocket expenses and a deceiving insurance company that we are going nowhere with.

I contacted and filed a claim with the ohio insurance company regarding misrepresentation seeing I have pictures, proof and the declaration that shows we have coverage and all we are getting is lies, excuses and adjusters finding any loopholes they can.

However we were told by the claims adjuster Jim Schneider that he has never seen so much mold in his lifetime and it is cold black mold and air tests proved airborne with two types of mold and not to stay there.

Well hello to american family, why would I get or pay for insurance and have a sitution where i need help and you just lie and cause more grief.

My wife has asthma and even makes the situation harder to deal with seeing all our contents are contaminated with black mold spores.

How many other people hold policys with this so called joke insurance company?

Wonder what will happen when you need help, you will get just grief and excuses from these idiots not to help and plenty of loophole storys.

As of this past evening we were informed by bio3 that the humidifier was set too high and lack of maintance cleaning on owners part is to blame also but we have yet to let our adjusters know this, they might next try to blame and find a casper the ghost loophole to get out of it.
