The MFG Research Center
Mystery shopper scam Montreal, Quebec? London, England?

Business & Finance

MFG Research Center sent me a letter and a check for $3,475 to be a mystery shopper and included a couple of assignments. Letter references a recent job search with Consumer Survey Specialists. I never conducted any such search. Check was issued on Wells Fargo & Company, San Francisco, CA.

First assignment was to send money via Western-Union to Brenda Raley in London, England, United Kingdom. Secon assignment was to shop at Home Depot, GAP, Walmart, Kmart, Sears, or JC Penny (their spelling).

I did a reverse lookup on the phone number in the letter and it is listed as a cell phone in Montreal, Quebec. The letter is signed by Melanie Mackenzie, Research Coordinator, and the check is signed by Richard Lery, Controller.

For all the time and expense that went into creating the letterhead, forms, and check, these people could get a real, honest job instead of trying to scam people. I do wonder if it bothered their consciences to print the Code of Business Conduct and Ethics on the back of the letter.

Thank you to complaint for this forum to report such scoundrels.
