Will not release payoff to me or other bank ripoff

I called and ask for payoff they would not give it to me said that i had to send a letter asking for pay off with return prepaid envlope and next day fed ex it so i did then they tell me when i call the next day that it will take 10 to 14 days to get it process my request and then send it back to me so i had to pay more interest.
