BB&T, Branch Banking And Trust Company BB&T charged two overdraft fees for one item, and refuse to correct it!

On October 22, I made purchases using my debit card for my checking account, and mistakenly overdrew my account by $. 22 (22 cents). I was charged $35.00 that day for the overdraft, and although I wasn't happy about it, I knew it was my fault and accepted it. This gave my account a balance of -$35.22. Ok. BUT, without having any other outstanding checks or having used my debit card, I was charged another $35.00, the next day, which made the balance -$70.22. Clearly the overdraft fees were both placed on one item. I spoke with two different people on the phone, and one personally. They explained how they did this, and the attitude was, "it's your problem, because we don't care".
Here's what they did: On 10/22, they "held" funds for a purchase of $31.25, and it reflects on the available balance as if it has posted—as if the money has already been removed. An overdraft fee was then applied. On 10/23, the SAME $31.25 actually "posted" to the account, and they applied ANOTHER overdraft fee. This is wrong! I have contacted the Better Business Bureau about this, and I am hoping to get my $35.00 back.in the past, I have gone to the BBB about a couple other matters involving companies (not banks), who have treated me the same—rip me off, justify it, and tell me, "oh, well, tough luck", and I have had results in DAYS! Something needs to be done about this. As soon as I can have my paychecks redirected to my other checking account, BB&T will gone from my life, and I will be spreading the word about what a lousy company it is. I would recommend xxxDirect.
