Bank Of America
Nationwide 1,120.00 over draft charges in 2 weeks time because of going over by 60.11

Business & Finance

I get paid every 2 weeks by direct deposit, I only make 441.00 every 2 weeks so I have to keep a close tab on my finances. I had been doing this, but then in August I went over I knew by a few cents. 80, I also thought there was one transaction I had not put in my register, so on my Sept 4th pay period I deducted 2 over draft fees from my regular pay.
I then used my debt card as usual, I wrote checks to pay my bills etc. I used my card for many small transaction over the course of 2 weeks with it never being declined.
The next pay period I went on line to get the exact balance, I discovered then that my account was 569.00 in the hole, this was after they had taken my whole pay check. I had 30 over draft charges applied to my account. I have talked to Bank of America reps many times. I was told by one that because I am a perferred customer they give me the ability to go over the limit! I was asked at the time I opened the account if I wanted over draft protection, I said no! My feelings are if the money is not there I cant spend it. So to my understanding that is the policy I had with them.
I will not say I am totally innocent in this, I did go over my account by 60.11. I thought I had more than taken care of that. I also was wrong in not looking at my account every day, I was also enrolled in a program that rounds up your purchases to the nearest dollar. I have 18 transaction where Bank of Americas calculations of rounding up to the nearest dollar is well over the no more than. 99 they explained to me, some as high as 3.87 more in their round up. I have asked them to Please work with me and they have refused to refund anymore than 105.00. The total charges so far are 1,120.00 in over drafts charges in 2 weeks.
I would appreciate any help or advise, on how to handle this from here.
Thank you
