Chase Best Buy Credit Card Best Buy uses Chase Credit Card for their financed and promotional credit card purchases. Chase Credit Card uses intentionally devious methods to rip off users of their zero or low interest plans

Business & Finance

1. First Best Buy Chase Credit Card Ripoff.

Best Buy uses the Chase Credit Card for credit purchases at their stores. When a purchase is made using the zero or low interest rate, Chase Credit Card has intentionally set up their on-line payment page to prevent or discourage payment of the credit amount within the no interest period.

When you attempt to make an on-line payment, the only two choices that first appear are "Minumum Payment" and "Full Balance Payment." Of course, making only the minumum payment will leave you with two choices: either a huge final balloon payment balance at the end of the promotional term or, continuing payments but now with all the deferred interest that has accrued from day one added to the total. Where is the choice for a custom payment amount? Not here.

On the Chase website payment page, it's not until you exit or press "continue" or "next" that a sreen shows up that will allow you to make a customized payment amount that would pay off the balance equally before the end of the promotional period. It was just a fluke that I even found that screen because I was not going to make a minimum payment, could not pay off the entire balance and was just trying to exit the screen.

This website payment page is a clear, intentional RIPOFF, designed to fraudulently and unethically make millions for Best Buy and Chase. This was only their first rip off of the same transction. See No. 2 below.

2. Second Best Buy Chase Credit Card Ripoff.

As mentioned in No. 1 Ripoff above, Best Buy uses the Chase Credit Card for credit purchases at their stores. If a Chase on-line or web-site payment is selected, the ONLY payment method offered is with a bank account number, not a debit card or other credit card, only a bank account number. Therefore, if you are unlucky enough to mistakenly enter an incorrect bank routing or account number as I did, it's already too late—you've been ripped off.

A week or so later, you'll receive a card in the mail from Chase saying that your account has been charged a $45 penalty. Then, if you happen to receive the card after the payment due date, ALL the promotional deferred interest to date is then charged plus a late payment fee.

It becomes quite obvious that they ONLY accept bank account number payment because they know that at least 10% of payers (maybe higher) will enter at least one number incorrectly of a 22 digit bank routing and account number. Bingo—they have you and your money.

If a debit or credit card were permitted for payment, it would immediatly tell a payer that an incorrect number had been entered. Just like any purchase at Walmart, the payment could be immediately debited from your account. If Chase wants to charge additional for a debit card payment (typically 4%), OK, but they should at least provide that as an option. No, they are too greedy to settle for just an an additional 4%. They want the big bucks from the penalties and interest.

This website payment process is a clear and intentional RIPOFF, designed to net both Chase and Best Buy millions of dollars in unearned, fraudulently and unethically collected penalties and interest.
