Corporation no escrow refund, files documents in wrong county, more ripoff - Florida ombudsman office appeared to be "business as usual" as they seemed impatient and unwilling to assist me

Still waiting for our escrow account refund. (we have posted several time prior on this site). Still having problems getting any answer from Fairbanks. Wasted 3 hours on the phone with them today to get some of the same treatment as before being transferred and then being transferred again to full answering machines.

This time we are waiting for our escrow refund and reconveyance documents since we refinance in March. Fairbanks claims they sent the escrow refund in April, and the amount they stated was sent to us, of course, was incorrect from what we are owed. To top it off they filed reconveyance documents in the wrong county recorders office. Claim that since our account was paid in full they no longer have the records but for a fee they can send me a full accounting. This all said in the same telephone conversation. Also claim to have paid property taxes, but the date they "paid" them was after we signed our refinance documents. I spoke with our county tax assessors office and they confirmed that the amount was refunded to Fairbanks because our new finance company paid the back taxes Fairbanks failed to pay plus our next tax statement due later this year, so Fairbanks owes us that much more from our escrow account.

As for trying to get an answer about the reconveyance recording in the the wrong county they had no idea and transferred me again, to a full answering machine.

I must admit that the person I originally spoke with in the Salt Lake City ombudsment office was very polite and seemed eager to assist me and apoligized several times that she could not help me. However, Florida ombudsman office appeared to be "business as usual" as they seemed impatient and unwilling to assist me.

Keep working on them and try all your alternatives.
