Wachovia
Took huge amount of fees that wasn't my fault

Business & Finance

We had a checking account with Wachovia years ago. Back when we had our car insurance coming out automatically. When it was time to renew our insurance, the company accidentally charged our account twice for the initial payment. Since we lived paycheck to paycheck, that caused us to overdraft on other smaller items. Wachovia racked up nearly $300 in overdraft fees and insufficient funds fees. The insurance company gave us back the money, but says there weren't responsible for the fees. Wachovia would not return the fees to us either, claiming the insurance company is responsible. We emailed them, and mailed them copies of our statements many times showing the insurance company taking and paying back the over charged money, as well as Wachovia's fees coming out.
We never heard back from them.
Now all of a sudden we are getting letters from a collection agency, Wachovia saying we owe $395.70. I figured they had written it off since we never heard from them. The agency they are using is RJM Acquisitions, which after what I read on here, I don't want to deal with.
Any suggestions on how to deal with this?
Ps, I still have the account info showing the insurance and fees... Somewhere (gotta find it)
