National City Bank
Wouldn't Return Bank Card!

When I get paid by my employer the money goes directly to a check/credit card, which I can then use as a credit card or at an atm to withdraw my paycheck. I went to the atm at my local National City bank and tried to withdraw money off of the card and the atm took my card and wouldn't complete the transaction or return the card. I went inside and the teller went and retrieved the card but refused to give it to me! The card did not have a name on it and it was against company policy to return a card without a name. (It only had an account number.)

That was the only source of income I had, my entire paycheck was on this card. I told the lady she could check the video of the atm and see that i was the one that just tried to use it. She could also call the company that issues the card and give them the account number on it and they could have told her who the card was issued to. She could then verify my id with my driver's license. She refused. I explained that this was the only money I had until I got paid again and that I had kids I had to buy groceries for, and bills to pay etc. They absolutely refused to give me back my card saying that it was bank policy. I was furious.

It took the my company nearly a week to get another card to me and I had to pay for that one!!! This lady at Natl City treated me like a criminal and I wasn't doing anything wrong. I should say that I do not have an account at this bank, but was just using their atm. They wouldn't even give me a reason why the atm took my card. I felt like calling the police on them and refusing to leave until they gave me my card back, but I didn't.

It would have taken her a few minutes but she could have verified that the card belonged to me and that I wasn't doing anything illegal, but she refused to do anything to help me. Needless to say I no longer use that bank's atm.
