Teller quoted wrong card payment amount, then next month owed $300

I asked the teller how much I had to pay on my credit card. He told me $30.00 which it normally was. But I was over my limit which he had failed to tell me. So I paid them $40 thinking id be good until next month. If I didnt use the card in which I had already broke my card any ways.

The next month I go in to pay my credit card again asking how much I needed to pay and he says $300 something at that point I was mad and wondering how that could be possible when I hadn't used the card since I paid my min. 10. I had another $30.00 to pay my bill but when they told me that I refused to pay them because I would just be throwing money away when it wouldn't even get me to my limit. And I had just recently lost my job and had to use my money wisely. So now my credit is kind of screwed up because of this teller and they can't even help me out or explain the problem.

Think that the teller or the bank should have to cover it for lying to me.
