Corp mystery shopper scam

On 22 January my wife and I received a letter from 3D Research Corp (a division of J D Auto Transport Inc) informing us that they were responding to our request for extra income.

They claimed we had been chosen to be a special Mystery Shopper and could eventually become a permanent employee. They included a business check drawn on Pinnacle Bank [routing number 086427 acct # 104913912 06305310] for the amount of $3,990.00

Included in the letter was specific instructions of how the money was to be used. The bulk of the money $3,340.00 was to be transferred back to them using Moneygram or Western Union as a mystery buyer exercise.

We were required to contact an account manager STAN ALLEN or SHARON PARKER for authorization and activation of this check. The letter was signed by RITA ANSWER Human Resources Manager.

We called the telephone number on the letter 1 450 350 0222 and received a recorded message in an unrecognizable foreign language.
