CIC Credit Monitoring Services Rip-off

I wrote here before (see post on 02/26/03), when I found this website, about getting ripped off for $79.95 from this company... And since I had no idea that they would be charging us, I had a couple of bounced checks when this money unexpectedly went out (which costed us MORE money).

Well, to update the situation, I still didn't have my money today (03/06/03) and we had talked to them on 02/26/03... They had told us 7 to 10 days to return our money to our account, but I had informed them that that is far too long. I called them today, and they informed me that they had returned our money on 02/27/03!!! I told them the automated teller at my bank has not seen it, and he said "well, it's out of our hands."

I called my bank and talked to a live person, and found out they did indeed put the money back... The reason it isn't showing up yet is because I had also cancelled my check card, reported lost/stolen after I found out from this site that this company has the potential to take the $80 more than one time. So it is just taking a bit longer to actually put it in my account, but good news is that my bank has the money and will have it in my account (hopefully) by Monday.

I'm very happy with this website, because they made me realize I'm not alone in this and it got me mad enough to really ream these people at CIC and maybe that is what it took to get our money back. I hope you all do the same. Call them and give them "what fer."
