Trying to RIP me off

I was called tonight from a company claiming that I owed on a credit card from 1998. They had my social security number and knew what town I lived in during the early 90's. They claimed I opened the credit card in 1993 and paid on it for 3 years before it went into default for over 3000 dollars. They say I now owe more than 5000 dollars. I told the lady that I had no such credit card. I never opened a credit card at that time, I was in the army and no one besides sears would give me credit. I think this company is fishing to "settle" on bogus claims and rip people off. I can't even find a legitimate web site for these jokers!
