Possible Check Scam

I received a letter and a check from Dominion Group, Inc. Today much like the other claims that are listed under this company on this web-site. The letter stated that I won a grant in the amount of $39,000 and all I needed to do was call a number, ask for Frank Bogart or Carmen Sloan, and they would activate the check. I do not believe any part of this, especially since I work for one of the companies listed as a sponsor and they have no idea what this is, either.

I tried to call the number given on the letter that came with the check, 1-289-892-4305, and was prompted on a low-quality voicemail system to leave a message with the claim number and my phone number, however the voicemail box was full. What legitimate company dealing with "grants" in large sums of money would have a cheap voicemail system that cannot support a large volume of calls?

I looked all over the internet and cannot find ANY information on this company, including the phone number which is either unlisted or a cell phone. Again, what legitimate company in this day and age have no information on the internet, no website, nothing? Especially one that claims to handle large grants?

So, long story short, I highly recommend anyone getting this letter to do LOTS of research before taking any action with that check! I believe this falls under that "too good to be true" catagory.
