Stalling a sale so that they can FORECLOSE on a home

As a commentary on Countrywide as an agency, I cannot expound enough upon the mismanagement and lack of professionalism of these people. We have had the recent misfortune of attempting to buy a house that was about to go into the foreclosure department. The sellers were instructed as to the procedures for attempting to sell their home themselves, we were in contract negotiations with the homeowners and Countrywide, when they chose to forward it to the foreclosure department without notifying any of the parties involved.
We have secured a home loan, completed home inspection, and appraisal and been cleared for closure 10 days ago. Countrywide STILL has not assigned a "negotiator" to the loan and may lose this sale because of their incompetence. This sale would STOP a home from going into foreclosure, Countrywide could have had the mortgage paid 10 days ago, and continues to stall.
Their must be some benefit to Countrywide to have this home foreclosed upon, or prolonging this process. What are their kickbacks from the federal government? If this is status quo for Countrywide, it is no wonder that they are a floundering agency. And their golden boy executive walks out of it on a rainbow ending with a pot of gold!? If the Federal Government is truly concerned with it's citizens and the "common man", they should go after the jugular of this Evil Empire.
