Countrywide loses in wrongful foreclosure ripoff

A $3,400, 000 settlement was ordered to be paid to a North Las Vegas couple after Countrywide stripped their condo of ALL its contents. The couple was termporarily out of state and had never missed a payment. They returned home to find their belongings gone and their condo sold. Countrywide will appeal the settlement. Hopefully, the court will uphold it. $3,400, 000 is a pittance for the grief Countrywide causes mortgage holders. Since they are a "loan collector" and not a mortgage company, there should be laws in place that prevent what they do to people. Has anyone ever investigagted their status?
