I recieved a letter in the mail stating that I had already been guaranteed to be approved for a Consumer First Platinum Card. The letter stated that I had a $5,000 credit limit, no interest for 12 months and I only needed to sign my acceptance letter and send a check for $45 or $49 (for rush delivery) and my new card would be in hand before I knew it. At first I got all ecxited because I've been trying to get a credit card to rebuild my credit. I was inches away from sending it in with the money but then I started to think.

The letter did not tell me what kind of card it would be, VISA, MASTERCARD, etc... Only that it was a Consumer First Platinum Card. Then I noticed that nowhere on the letter did it state a phone number or e-mail address or anything. I looked on the internet to see if I could find any info on Consumer First and found nothing. I then figured this to be fraudulant.

There's a lot of people out there looking to rebuild their credit and when you recieve something like this in the mail it looks so professional and sounds so great and alot of us are desperate enough to believe it. Just do the research first and if it sounds too good to be true it probably is!!
