Ripped off, still charging after payoff

My aunts credit card account was paid off in November. When we called to get a payoff amount, to pay it off in full we were given a specific amount. It was paid off and they did not contact us again. Either email or mail that more money was owed.

Four months later, my aunt gets a call from a collection agency harrassing her to the point she got sent to the hospital with a stoke.

They immediately started charging 32% default interest on a balance that was paid off in full. And now are charging 32% interest on the 32% interest.
Eventhought we had not been late and had been a good standing customer for years.

I have spoken to more than 20 different account managers and all tell me a different story. Today again I spoke to some one that says either pay the 1,400 or else.

We are not paying anything but the interest of 15% standard on the account from the time it was paid off to the due date. That would only be about $250.00

We need help on this.
