Unethical Extortion of money through rip-off overdraft charges!

In a nut shell this is what happened to my husband and myself just last week. We had a balance in our account of $459, four checks came through that evening they all came through the same time but the bank sent the $600 check through first, so it bounced and of course the other three followed, if the bank woud've sent the other three checks through first they would've been covered and we would've only had one ridiculously high $34 dollar fee, but instead we were charged $34 four times for a total of $136! The kicker is, we also deposited his $500 paycheck that same day before any of those checks came through, but only $100 of that check was deposited into our account the rest wouldn't be deposited until the following day! I called and talked with three different representatives from the bank, I was told it is their policy to send the check with the largest amount through first, arghh! They also told me in every possible way that they would not refund our money! I'm so ticked, I think this is a ridiculous way to extort money from your own clients, we have banked with National City for years, including college and vehicle loans! There is no accountability for anything these big banks do to their customers! We are through with them: (
