Are You Serious?

You know. I am an educated person. I am also an honest person. I take issue with "perfect"people who post these messages in support or defense of an organization as unscrupulous as Countrywide Home Mortgage.

It must be great to have lived life and never made a mistake. Never fell on hard times. Never been lied to. Never been disappointed.

Most people know that there are 3 sides to every story. Homeowner's side, CW's side and what really happened. I just find it hard to beleive that thousands upon thousands of people are all wrong. They can't be. Of course some people will lie but most won't. What recourse do home owners have when they honestly get taken advantage of? What can a family really do when they are told to wait by the fax for a work out agreement that never gets sent? What can an honest working family do when they fall behind on a few mortgage payments and are put into a repayment plan that is unrealistic and sets them up to fail? What can a person on a fixed income do when the ARM that they were tricked into agreeing to has exhorbant costs to refinance if they decide to do it while intrest rates are low?

The answer is there is no protection for homeowners. None. I feel sorry for all the people who don't have perfect lives. Who dont work for mortgage company's that pay their collectors to take people's money. I also feel sorry for the people who fall on hard times and get screwed by "big business" in their effort to save the bottom line. This is people's lives.

Who I do not feel sorry for however are the people who judge others because they too will be judged and more than their house will be at stake. I do not feel sorry for the CEOs and CFOs of the Countrywides of the world because like Enron's leaders they will perish and be jailed. I don't not feel sorry for the investors who create loans that can not be modified because they too will reap what they are sowing and right now they are sowing bs... They will reap it.

So to all the honest victims of this nightmarish time you are going through be strong. Keep the faith and know that it may not be this year, but soon you will see the very people that wronged you paying the biggest price. If you don't beleive me, the next time you are in Houston ask someone to drive you by the Enron building. It will bring it all home... No pun intended.
