NSF Ripoffs

I wrote a check for $190 which was not supposed to be cashed unless our city formed a complete soccer team for girls under 16. They were not able to form a complete team but cashed the check regardless. The check for my daughter would have only been $90 but I paid $100 for another girl to play — her mother is dying of cancer and she asked if I could pay the fee and she would pay me the following week, which she was unable to do.

Because of the way Bank of America reverses charges and takes larges to smallest, this caused several $3 and $5 debit charges to bounce at $35.00 each. If they would have taken smallest to largest, I would have only bounced the one check and not been charged $250 in NSF charges. It is completely unfair practice. But the worst part is that Bank of America does NOT care about its customers at all.

After speaking with several people from customer service on up the food chain, I was repeatedly told, "tough luck, we can't do anything about it." and "You knew the deal when you signed the terms of the contract." It was so frustrating and it's saddening to see the greed in the world. What happened to caring about people???

It's been tough enough with the tax and insurance crises going on here in Florida... I've been trying desparately to get back on my feet only to have this $250 ripped from me... Surely does not help the situation. I actually have a friend who is a Senior VP for BOA — his answer to me is "Switch banks! I'll drive you there!"
