Card Account Had Mismatched Social Security Number, No Help

I applied for a Home Depot credit card and was approved using my SSN.

I used the card with no problem. A few months later I called to get balance info, and they told me the SSN I was using to verify my identity was not the number they had on file and that they could not answer any questions for me. They told me to go to the Social Security Department and provide them with a letter that proves what my SSN is. They did nothing to assist me even though it was their error. Once I faxed them the letter, they proceeded to tell me it could take up to 30 days to correct the error.

On top of everything else, every customer representative I spoke to was very rude. I will never shop at Home Depot again. They may have jeopardized my credit. Buyer beware!
