Repossed my van with no notice in the middle of the night when I had sent 2 letters to them asking for help

I was totally shocked that a tow truck pulled up in my driveway and just hooked my van up and towed it away. I have sent CapitalOne Auto Finance 2 letters asking them if they could help me in any way for just 3 months to get back on track. I bought the van in 2003 and have been pretty regular with my payments until last March when my Dad died and I missed so much work (I don't get paid if I don't work). Single mom with 2 boys who I have to support until I got married in August. I don't understand why they did not respond to my letters.
