Ripoff Ridiculous abusive collection tactics by Mary Craft

In a bill still being reviewed by my health insurance was prematurely sent to a collection agency called M G Credit (Jacksonville, FL). The collections agent assigned was a nasty individual named Mary Craft.

While the debt was valid, the methods used to collect said were not. Ms. Craft used the following tactics:

Screaming into the phone at me. Screaming into the phone at my coworkers if they answered the phone. Ordering them to find me now and put me on the phone or she'd just keep calling them and screaming at them.

Telling me she had the "power to ruin my credit if she decides to". Questioning my manhood and telling me I was a bad parent. More screaming and even more screaming at multiple individuals several times a day for three solid months.

My complaints to her employer, specified in writing, went ignored - for a year. My complaints to the medical practice who sold the debt - ignored to this day.

A year later, when I had cooled off and Ms. Craft finally stopped calling, I worked with another staff member who courteously worked with me to pay off the debt. Apparently, Ms. Craft was let go due to her nasty behaviour - A YEAR LATER. Given that MG Credit has a staff of around 11 individuals, I fail to see how such behaviour could have gone unnoticed in a group that small. I can only conclude that it was at least tolerated - if not encouraged.

I have yet to receive a response from the owner regarding her employee's nasty treatment of my coworkers and her threat to ruin my credit on a whim.

If Ms. Craft has found more work as a collections agent, I caution those in contact with her to avoid phone contact.

MG Credit owes me a real apology for what their employee - acting on their behalf - put me and my coworkers through day after day for three months.
