Credit card scam

I was contacted by this company on or about 08/05/02. They told me the same thing that others have said on this site about a pre-approved credit card. I set the draft date for 09/01/02 to give me time to check out the company, something I will do before giving out this info for now on.

I called the customer service number and DID get a real person. This female told me that they do not cancel bank drafts or orders with their company. They only extend the draft date. What kind of company does not allow you to cancel?! A dirty, good for nothing scam artist thats what kind. After I told the girl on the line that it was rediculous that my order was "uncancellable" and asked to speak to someone that knew what they were doing, I was hung up on.

When I tried to call back and get a supervisor or at least someone competent, my call was redirected to the allways full voice mail box. I didnt give up so easy though. I went to another phone and called, this time getting an automated answering system (not the same as the voice mail). I left a message for "John Stewart" who I placed my order with. Contrary to what "Wes" would have us all believe, they do not call you back right away - or ever for that matter.

Besides posting here I will report the business to Mastercard International and Visa, because they will have private investigations of the company. Also, I will report to the IFCC. They notify local law enforcement and FBI. I would suggest anyone who is contacted by this or any similar company (United Financial is one) to do the same. BTW thank you for this site usacomplaints.com staff!
