Witholding Direct Deposit Funds Durham

I have been a wachovia customer for almost two years. My recent experience with them has been a catalyst for me closing my account. I receive bi-weekly payroll deposits as well as bi-monthly child support deposits from the State Child Support Agency. Three weeks ago on a friday when my payroll is direct deposited into my account, I checked my online account balance that morning as I wanted to pay my rent during my lunch break. That morning my account relfected the deposit online, that afternoon when I went to pay my rent with my debit card, the transaction was declined. I contacted customer service and they said they did not see a deposit. I told them it's a bi-weekly payroll deposit and asked if they seen previous deposits at the same intervals, they said yes, however they did not see a deposit currently. I left the issue alone since I was getting nowhere with the phone reps. The following day the deposit was posted online with a transaction date of Friday. I know Wahcovia isn't making millions of holding my $1,200 for 24 hours, but multiply that by millions of customers and I'm sure they are. I have experienced the same incident this past weekend with regards to the bi-monthly Child Support Direct Deposit, however this deposit was to be posted on a Saturday and as of Monday morning they still have not posted the transaction. Unfortuntately is not Gov't money, it's only processed by them, so I can not involve the State Department otherwise I certainly would.
