Worst customer service ever and "for a bank?" can't believe in business

I opened an account 12/06 everyone at that branch were great. The acct rep gave me her business card on 3-1-07 I called the ph# but was routed to national customer service.

I wanted to talk about the $5.99/mo Privacy Assist nat'l cust. Svc (not the rep nor her supervisor) knew what I was talking about. Supervisor stated he was going to call the branch, told me he talked with Mark would transfer me; but I was transferred to a girl in the identity theft dept. Who never spoke to the supervisor and knew not what I was calling about.

I called back the branch was able to leave my name # for the acct rep which she did call back promptly and gave me Privacy Assist's ph #. I called and was surprised to learn that my credit report info was totally available to the rep. I complained that my report accurately reflected exactly my account stats the day I signed up but todate did not reflect that most accounts were now paid in full. The rep was reading to me zero balance accts that were closed yrs ago.

I called back the branch asked acct rep to cancel Privacy Assist refund the March $5.99 charged last day in Feb. Acct rep called Privacy Assist then called me back stating that I had to be on phone and that she had tried conference calling.

I was able to conference call her Privacy Assist and we got to the person Paul (who she had talked with) but we were disconnected after he found out she was on the phone. Again, I conference called her Paul but this time, I let her do the talking.

Then he asked me why I wanted to cancel tried to overcome objection with a statement he clearly knew nothing about. I became upset that he was giving me a problem to cancel. I asked for $5.99 refund since the charge was for the month of March. He stated he could not refund.

The acct rep still on the phone heard all of this stated that if the charge was made to my BA account that she could override refund (but charge was not). I told Paul that I would call my credit card then he hung up. I talked with the acct rep telling her that she is too good to be with BA.

I am going to close all my accts with BA, change all my accounts #s and be vigilant to identity theft. My trust with BA has been totally shattered and I am in disbelieve that BA is a bank conducting business this way.
