Capital One
Would not close my account when requested/Ignored requests/Kept Billing

I had 2 accounts with Capital One for many years. When I recently finally decided to close the account. I transferred both balances to a new card from a different company. One of my Capital One accounts did get closed. The other one... They did not close it.

It has been 3 months now, and I have contacted 4 different reps. From Capital One, all who say the account has a credit, they will send a check, and the account is closed. However; I keep receiving bills. They aren't for any money. They have a negative balance, but they keep the account open.

When I emailed (for the 5th time) Capital One in response to their bills, they told me to call (once again) and close the account. I emailed back and told them that I had done so 4 different times to no avail. I did call again... And got hung up on!

I have filed complaints on the BBB, with the Virginia Dept. Of Agriculture and Consumer Affairs, with the Office of Consumer Credit Commissioner in Tx, and with the Tx AG's office. Now I write this report for all to be aware! Make sure they close your account! I have told them I will contact an attorney if they do not do as requested. I have heard no further response.
