Hidden charges and misleading credit card offer

This company contacted me and assureed me that I had applied for their offer, but of course I knew I had not. They demanded that I verify my checking account number, and when I refused the gentleman became very hostile. I gave them an incorrect account number and then told them they in no way had permission to debit any amount. I was called back by their "security" department.

I again gave a bogus account number and refused to accept their offer. I called the cutomer service number to verify that they understood what "no" meant. I was contacted the next morning (6:00am) and told that I was still being charged $100 for canceling the offer.

I told the woman that I was never disclosed the fees involved, I never applied for anything, and therefore refused to pay. She was very rude and told me I HAD to pay it. I told her it was a scam, and they had 88 complaints since March and she said it was someone else's company, and hers was legitimate. I told her that I actually looked them up by the phone number on my caller ID and she hung up on me. PLEASE be careful!!!
