Cit, cit Consumer Finance Inc over paid taxes for a property I no longer own and want me to reimburse them and have added it to my credit report Ripoff

I refinanced this house in my ex husbands name from mine. I had an escrow account, cit group did not pay the taxes for 6 months. When I called them about it on the day of closeing they were supposed to research and call me back. They did not and I had to sit there all day waitning for this call. I had to bring in money at closing for a refi of 435 dollars. Which coverd late fees for the taxes. Then they double paid the taxes. The state will not give them their money back but they feel I should repay them 880 dollars back. Also the Title company land America lawyers title company located @ 1565 village circle suite 100 sent them a short pay off which was 290 dollars and cit wants me to pay that amount as well. Whn asked is there anything I could have done to prevent this they both say no. It is now on my credit report and I still am being harassed for the money, lawyers title co is prepared to pay the 290 dollars but has yet paid a dime. They both have errors and emmisons insurance and are coverd for these mistakes but will not take the hit. Lawyers title will no longer respond to my calls even though they messed this up in the first place. Had the escrow officer not given a shorth pay I would not be in this situation and had they just paid the taxes like they were supposed to everything would be over by now. Cit should have never paid that last tax payment, they paid it 19 days after they recieved the short pay off.in there own paper work that short pay off should have been a sign to stop all transactions
