I opened an account online with Washington Mutual in May. Everything was going fine with the bank

One day I got a fraudulent charge on my acct and notified the bank about it. They took immediate action, froze my account and reimbursed my account for the overdraft fees and the money that was taken. This was great. They informed me however that my direct deposits would no longer be able to go in and nothing could come out.

Well a few weeks later I tried to make a purchase on my debit card because my check had been deposited so I figured the hold was lifted.

I called the bank and they did nothing but tell me what I already knew. There was a freeze on my account! REALLY??? As if I hadn't already known that.

So for the past month and a half I have been calling and calling trying to find someone who knows what they are talking about. I was told that my money could be transfered to another account if I opened it... Wrong... I was told I could pay my bills on-line. Wrong again... I was told I had to go into the branch when I told them the nearest branch was 7 hours away. If you can open an account on-line you should be able to take care of things like this over the phone or online!

I had recieved a letter from them saying my account would be closed on the 7th of October and they were going to mail me a check with my money, two weeks later my money was still in the bank and still going into the bank and no check was received!

Money was going into my account regularly and nothing could be done I couldn't touch it... I couldn't pay my bills. And very few of the customer service reps tried to acutally help me!

After being given the run around I finally got numbers for Risk Management... And they FINALLY helped me. A woman told me that she would lift the hold and transfer the money to another account within the bank, and that I could call customer service and they would show me how to set it up so I could pay my bills online until I got my card and check book.

I had explained to the woman that I had until the 27th of the month (it was the 18th) to get my car payment in and I could NOT wait for it to be mailed to me it needed to be transferred to another account. She said I would be able to access the account in 48 hours.

That night the money was taken out of my account and there wasn't any money in any of the other accounts that they had tried to open for me, so I called to see if they could see which account it was going into.

I was told that the check for the money in my account had been MAILED to me and it would take 7-10 days to receive it and because it had already been mailed they couldn't do anything about it! Now my loan is going to have delinquent charges and make my credit look even worse! U
