Failed to refund payment for membership kit which I returned within 30 days Haven't responded to corresdence of three mailings

My dealing with SMC began when they sent me a membership kit for $39.95, to look over which I received July 11th. I decided it wasn't for me and promptly sent it back intact via UPS, on July 24th, minus $14.95 for postage and handling I enclosed a letter stating that after looking over the info, I didn't think it was what I was looking for.

I checked my credit card account daily, thru the internet, for a deposit from SMC. I checked with the tracking receipt thru UPS. They stated that the merchandise was received by a SMC employee on July 28th. As of this date of Sept. 30th, there has been no reply to me, nor a refund applied to my card acct. Two months have gone by.

The last letter I wrote, I stated if I didn't get some response, I would be notifying Kerry Cox and also contacting the Better Business Bureau of Simi Valley. But I'm afraid I would get no results from either source.

I am a retiree forced to supplement my Soc. Sec., thinking possibly I could work from home thru SMC. It is definitely a ripoff as they have more or less stolen my due refund, plus the amount it cost me to return the kit. If anyone has ideas as to how I can get my refund, please advise. I'm not sure if this is the way to pursue this issue, but I seem to have no recourse. I realize this is not a huge amount of money, but it's MY money and I'm entitled to the refund they promised.

How many others have they ripped off just because the individuals chose to not join their company!!!
