On May 26th, I e-mailed this gym with my request for cancellation of my "month-to-month" membership that requires 30 days notice to cancel. I never got a response to the email. The following day, on May 27th, I tried calling the gym office and the owner end eventually reached the gym employee who told me I need to come down to the gym and fill out a cancellation form. I physically went to the gym on May 27th to fill out the cancellation form, verbally inform the gym employee that I was cancelling, and I gave the gym employee the form that same day.

On May 27th, I also called Eric General, the owner of the gym, to leave him a voicemail message informing him that I would be cancelling my membership, and that I would like to know when billing would cease, since that information wasn't listed during sign-up and the plan I had was advertised as a "cancel anytime" plan that was month to month. He returned my call on May 27th and left me a voicemail stating that it takes 30 days (which wasn't stated anywhere during sign-up) for the billing to stop. I was billed again on May 29th, then again on June 30th.

When I realized that I was billed again on June 30th, I called Eric on July 5th to ask him why I was still being billed. He took my name and information and promised to call me back in 15 minutes. Eric never called me back. I tried to call him back again on July 5th, but he did not answer. On July 7th, I sent Eric a text message (since I wasn't having any success with calling him) because I knew it was his cell # that he uses as the main number for the gym. I asked him what the status of my refund was and confirmation that billing would cease from this point on. I told him that the cancellation policy was really frustrating. He replied "Your membership is cancelld and required a 30 day notice. U were billed based on where the date fell". I reminded him that I cancelled on May 27th, got billed on May 29th, and again on June 30th, and that June 30th was more than 30 days past the time which I cancelled. He never responded.

On July 8th, I called E-fit Financial, the company that does the billing for Daily 24 Fitness, and explained that I was supposed to get a refund. The representative told me that Eric had already spoken with him and apparently Eric told the rep that I cancelled on June 16th, which was a lie. The rep told me the only way I could get a refund is if Eric approves it. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and Pure 24 Fitness never responded to the BBB. I never got my money back or an explanation as to why I was billed for the full monthly amount more than 30 days after I cancelled.

I would not advise anyone to join this gym!
