Monthly $29 Late Fees Continued After Account Was Closed

On November 21 I purchased furnishings for $163.00 at Rooms To Go. The December statement had 0.53 in finance charges. I paid off the balance in full. However, I received the January statement, and they charged me $29.00 in late fees. I called customer service. They said it was an automatic charge by computer and they would take it off.

On the February statement they charged me another late fee. I called them again. That time customer service said they could only take off one late fee. I think that was not right, because they told me they would take off the late fee for January. If they had done it, there would have been no late fee for February. I canceled my account. After I closed my account, they continually charged me the late fee month by month. Later, they said I owe them $220.00 in late fees. That is a typical fraud action. They also reported it to Equifax and Experian and sold this account to another company. Citifinancial is so bad, so terrible a company that I have never seen anything like it.
