Fraudulent Credit Reporting

I have been stuck with Homecomings for almost 2 years now. I have been threatened with foreclosure notices, letters from attorneys and too many harrassing phone calls to mention both at home and at work. This is my story...

I have owned 3 homes in my adult life and have never experienced anything like this. I was a Navy Reservist prior to the attacks of 9/11. A little over a year after 9/11, I was activated to Navy Recruiting duty on a full time basis. I bought a home through a different mortgage company, which was sold to Homecomings Financial. This is where life as a home owner took a turn for the worse. After fighting back and forth with Homecomings for a year I finally had enough and attempted to refinance my home.

Upon submitting applications to several reputable mortgage companies, I was denied by all of them due to my recent credit history, which had been ruined by Homecomings. Homecomings had listed my mortgage standing as being over 700 days delinquent. Well, this was quite imposiible, since I hadn't even had the home for 700 days. Since that time, my health has taken a severe decline due primarily to stress to which Homecomings has significantly contributed to. After numerous threats of foreclosure and successfully completing the "payment plan" to get caught up with my mortgage payment, my interest rate just increased from 9.875% up to 12.875%.

I was recently discharged early from the military due to my disabling medical condition. Therefore, I have taken a severe cut in pay and benefits. I recently received a letter from Homecomings which stated that they wanted to help us with our current situation in regards to payments and/or interest rates. I called the number and was told that there was nothing they could do to help me and advised me to get a better paying job or just sell the home. I did not buy this home to move into it and sell 2 years later, so this is out of the question! I make $32,000 a year, I have paid off every creditor I have and am totally debt free with the exception of Homecomings and I still don't bring home enough money to pay my mortgage payment and my utilities. This is totally hidious!

Something has to be done with this company as well as others like it. Please contact me with any information regarding a class action law suit against Homecomings.
