Ripoff not returning $26000 credit amount for over 30 days

On 6/12 I paid my chase sonycard 26,572.00 by mistake for a $265.72 bill using my online banking account. The next day the bank called me because they noticed the error and because I don't have that much money in my checking account.

I was told by the bank that they would stop the payment and to send a new payment to Chase for the correct amount of $265.72 which I did on 6/14.

The bank called me on 6.16 and told me that someone send the payment to Chase already and that I should call them and get them to refund the money.

On 6/16 I called and was told that I could not get the money sent back to the bank and that it would take 7-10 days to get a refund. I called the bank and told them what the Chase told me.

Two weeks later I called Chase again and was told that the check was cut and it would take 7 to 10 days to get the money. Then I was connected to another department where they asked for my banking number and checking account number because they would try to send the money back to the bank directly. I would be called the next day - which of course I never received.

I called again today on July 10 and was told that the check was put in the mail today and that I would receive it in 10 to 15 days. I demanded to speak to a supervisor and to have the check over nighted to me. She said it was sent out US mail and would take 10 to 15 days (not the 7 to 10 I had been told before) and that there was nothing more she could do. She said that since it was such a large amount it had to go through approval steps before it could be refunded.

If I was even a day late, they would add on late fees and interest, or if I used their money, by way of an ATM withdrawal, they would charge me interest from day one. How is it they can use my money (actually my banks money) for 30 days or more and get to keep the interest they make on it? It is a big ripoff.

Stay away from this Credit Card company!

I want to cancel the account but I still have more of a credit because I returned some items that I purchased. As soon as I get my money back, I will cut this card up.
